Neon counts exercise repetitions and keeps your workout history on your iPhone. Camera tracking also uses Google ML Kit, which sends technical metrics to Google.
Neon is provided by Sweaty Potato Software Inc. Contact support@sweatypotato.ca with privacy questions.
Your profile and workouts
Neon stores your profile, optional sex, height and weight, completed workouts, repetition counts, estimated active calories, milestones, preferences and unfinished workout progress on your device. Weight is used to estimate calories. You can skip the measurement questions and edit saved measurements later. The current app requires no account and does not upload your profile or workout history to our servers.
Neon has no advertising, advertising tracking, purchases or subscriptions. It does not read Apple Health data or track your location in this release.
Camera tracking and Google ML Kit
With your camera permission, Neon processes camera frames on your device to detect body movement and count repetitions. The app does not save or upload camera video or audio. Google states that ML Kit processes its input images and detection results on the device and does not send those inputs or results to its servers.
ML Kit separately sends technical information to Google, including device and operating-system information, app identifiers and versions, installation identifiers, API configuration, performance metrics and API usage events. Google uses this information to operate, diagnose, maintain and improve ML Kit and detect misuse. ML Kit may also contact Google for updates and compatibility information. This technical collection is separate from your local workout history.
See ML Kit’s privacy terms, its iOS data disclosures, and Google’s privacy policy. You can use Manual counting without starting camera tracking.
Motion and optional diagnostic exports
With motion permission, supported modes use iPhone or compatible AirPods motion sensors to estimate reps. Motion samples and detector decisions are recorded locally during these workouts for accuracy troubleshooting, for up to ten minutes per recording. Camera movement diagnostics contain numeric body landmarks, timing and detector decisions, rather than images or audio.
Recordings stay on your device unless you choose an export or sharing action. Exported files can contain movement measurements, exercise and rep counts, timing, app/device information and an optional actual-count label. Current exports replace device-uptime values with relative timing and remove Bluetooth device names. Review the file before sharing it. The app does not automatically send diagnostic files to us.
Reminders and permissions
Optional reminders are scheduled locally after you allow notifications. You can change reminders inside Neon and revoke Camera, Motion & Fitness or Notifications access in iPhone Settings. Revoking a permission stops the related feature from accessing it; it does not erase existing local records.
Retention and deletion
Local profile, workout and diagnostic records remain in the app’s storage until the app and its data are deleted. Offloading the app retains its data. To remove local data, use Delete App in iPhone Settings. Copies you export or send to others are separate and must be removed from those destinations. Depending on your device backup settings, app data may be included in Apple backups and restored later; manage those copies through your Apple settings.
We cannot retrieve local workout data from your phone. Third-party technical metrics are retained under the provider’s policies; deleting Neon does not itself erase information already received by Google. Contact us for help with a privacy or deletion request.
Support and website visits
If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to include through Zoho Mail. We use them to resolve your request and delete support correspondence after resolution unless retention is legally required. Do not send passwords or unrelated personal information.
Vercel processes connection information, such as your IP address and requested page, to deliver and secure this website. The website has no advertising or analytics scripts. Opening an email link uses your chosen email application. These services are separate from Neon’s local workout storage.
